The North Clay Cardinals got 6 RBI from Cayden Craig, including a grand slam, as they beat Centralia 20-4 to win the Centralia Tournament on Saturday.  Will Stanton, Gabe Houser and Archie Goewey each drove in runs in the 1st to give Centralia a 3-1 lead.

 

The Cards won their opening game over Valmeyer 11-1 as Cayden Craig drove in 4 runs.  Trevan Sidwell was the winner allowing one hit and no runs over 4.  Cooper Lewis had 3 hits in the win.

 

The Cougars took 3rd place, knocking off Valmeyer in their final game of the day 5-2 in 8 innings.  The game was tied at 2 in the top of the inning when SC would take the lead on an Aiden Hoover RBI fielder’s choice, Colton Tockstein and Aiden Strobel each earned bases loaded walks.  Garret Shumate was the starter and winner going 7 innings and allowing 2 runs and 8 hits with 5 strikeouts.  Hoover got the save.

 

The Orphans won their opening game over SC 9-2 scoring 5 runs in the fifth inning to help them pull away.  Mike Organ, Will Stanton and Archie Goewey drove in 2 runs each for the Orphans.  Ryker Dodson drove in 2 Cougars runs.  Dax Snow was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit over 4.2.
