It has been a long and stellar baseball coaching career at Greenville High School for Coach Todd Hutchinson. Inducted into the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2023, Todd notched career wins #700 and #701 on Saturday with a double header sweep over Carlyle.
Salem head coach Brian Lipe has been at the helm at SCHS for 20 years, and played for ‘Hutch’ at Greenville HS.
“He is the ultimate motivator,” said Lipe.
“Someone I have looked up to for the better part of 25 years. He taught me as much about being a man as he did about the game, and I learned a ton of baseball under his coaching.”
Lipe added, “He is everything a coach should be and someone every coach should strive to be like! Congratulations Coach.”
Lipe was a part of 61 of those 701 wins at Greenville HS before moving on to Greenville College where he played.
