Mt Vernon High School hired 3 new coaches at their School Board meeting last night.  2019 Mt Vernon grad Lucas Cooper will take over his alma mater after coaching the past few years at Woodlawn.  The 25-year-old will be the youngest coach in the South 7 next year.  Cooper will be the 3rd straight coach that played under Doug Creel for the Rams.  Weston Brockhouse and Jeff Burkett will be going to Mt Vernon from his staff on Woodlawn and he will also add Kyle Cooper as a volunteer assistant.

The head girls’ basketball coach will be Travis Pinkston who will replace long time coach Jeff Lonnen, who resigned after last year and will retire after next.  Pinkston was an assistant with Lonnen this past year and also served as a boy’s assistant under Tim Holloway for 2 years.

 

Ashley Mast was hired as the girls volleyball coach with Annie Wehrheim announced as assistant.
