The Kaskaskia College Alumnus of the Year is Dr. Maryann Langenfeld.
She is a 1967 graduate of Kaskaskia College with a lifelong career in education defined by innovation, leadership and a deep commitment to improving the lives of other. A recognized leader in adaptive physical education, Langenfeld helped advance opportunities for individuals of all abilities, leaving a lasting impact across Illinois and beyond. She has also been involved in the Kaskaskia College Foundation since 1999 and has played an active role in scholarship selection, helping open doors for countless students and has been a driving force behind key Foundation efforts, including the Winter Gala and annual golf tournaments.
Langenfeld said she knew she wanted to go to Kaskaskia College after working for the college, that was then located at Centralia High School, when she was a senior.
“I am so proud of this college, the leadership, the dedicated faculty, and all of those individuals that have made this college such a success,” Langenfeld said. “This college enriches the lives of students every day, and I am so proud that I was one of those students and received an outstanding education.”
The college noted her continued involvement reflects not only gratitude for where her journey began, but a genuine commitment to ensuring others have the same opportunities to succeed.
