Wildcats Get Cahokia Win At Wood River, Host Fairfield Today

The Salem Wildcats scored 11 runs in the second inning as they won at Wood River 18-1.  Logan Butts hit a solo homer in the first inning.  Luke Boldt, Carter Lowe and Zane Applegate had 2 hits each.  Boldt, Eli LoGrasso, Brenden Smith and Scout Puricelli each drove in 2 runs.  Applegate doubled twice.  Luke Boldt was the winning pitcher going all 3 innings allowing 3 hits and a run with 4 ks.  The Cats improve to 3-13, 1-1 as they host 11-1 Fairfield this afternoon.


Salem JV Falls To Nashville

The Salem JV lost to Nashville 14-2.  Nashville opened the game with 7 runs in the top of the 1st and would score 5 times in the fourth to pull away.  Kellen Nix pitched 3 innings in relief for Jax Schaubert who took the loss.  Dre Consolino, Kaden Cripps, Drake Rector and Schubert had a hit with Cripps and Rector driving in runs.  The Salem Jv falls to 5-6-and-1 on the year.


Mt Vernon Rams Beat Carbondale, Showdown With McGivney Today

Mt Vernon is at home against Father McGivney.  The Rams are coming off an 11-1 win over Carbondale.  Ty Pierce hit 2 home runs and drove in 5, Ryker Perigo scored 4 runs going 2-2 with a triple.  The Rams also got 2 RBI from Nolan Mast.  Max Nowak and Bronx Hefner drove in runs as well.  Cale Maurer improved to 4-2 with the complete game 2-hitter.  He struck out 9.  Mt Vernon is 8-6 and 2-1 in the South 7.


Eagles Beat Woodlawn For 3rd Win of the Year

The OPS Eagles improved to 3-7 with an 8-3 win over Woodlawn.  With the game tied in the top of the 4th, Kody Burks hit an RBI double and Bo Chapman followed with an RBI to give OPS the lead.  Brady Cain was the winning pitcher giving up 3 runs over 7 innings.  Kyan Walker drove in 2 runs.  Chapman had 3 hits.  Brady Haines added 2.  OPS will take on Okawville today.


Mt Carmel Holds Off North Clay

North Clay fell to Mt Carmel 7-6 as their comeback came up just short after a 3-run homer by Cooper Lewis in the final inning fell a run short.  Trevan Sidwell, Lewis, Ian Jones, Cody Zimdars, Carder Walden and Jack Compton had hits for North Clay.  Sidwell took the loss working 2.2 innings of relief.  Compton was the starter.  The Cardinals fall to 14-3 on the season.


Stallions Beat ZR

Christ Our Rock’s Garret Denton, Carson French and Garret Beal combined for 4 of the teams 8 hits in the 11-6 win over Zeigler Royalton.  The Stallion scored 8 times in the fourth inning to take a 10-3 lead.  Evan Beal drove in 3 runs.  Noah Kenley and French had 2 each.  Brayden Albert earned the win going 4 innings of relief for Denton.  Christ Our Rock is at home against Neoga.


Orphans Sweep Cahokia

The Orphans swept their conference double header with Cahokia winning 15-0 and 19-1.  In the 19-1 win, Mike Organ drove in 5 runs on 2 hits including a grand slam in the 2nd inning.  The Orphans scored 10 runs in the opening inning.  Archie Goewey had a 3 run double in the inning.  Gabe Houser had 2 hits.

In the 15-0 win, the Orphans plated 12 in the 3rd inning to blow out the Comanches.  Dax Snow had 2 hits.  Drew Jack and Snow drove in 2 runs.  The Orphans will host Mater Dei.
