State Police confirm two people were killed in a single vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning on I-64 east of Mt. Vernon in Jefferson County.
Jefferson Fire officials say the eastbound car veered off the road and hit a tree head-on. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, while the passenger was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Both the driver and passenger are believed to be from out of state. Their names have not been released.
The crash was reported at 3:57 Sunday morning.
