Two people were transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital following a single vehicle wreck on the Norton Road in rural Odin early Sunday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the vehicle driven by 27-year-old Tyler Faith of Community Beach Road in rural Odin lost control when hitting an icy bridge deck. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 29-year-old David Faith of Norton Road in Odin.
Sandoval Fire Chief Scott Toler says the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. He says both the occupants were out of the vehicle upon their arrival. They were treated on the scene by Sandoval ambulance and United Medical Response, who later transported both to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The crash occurred at 5:45 Sunday morning.
The crash was one of three blamed on icy spots on the road early Sunday morning after winds on Saturday blew some of the snow back across the roadways causing slick spots. The other two involved vehicles sliding off the road, but no injuries.
