The Centralia Orphans (22-1) repeated as the champion of the Salem Invitational Tournament after their 2nd win of the season over rival Mt Vernon on Saturday afternoon 45-31.

Tournament MVP Kenny Bratton dominated offensively for the Orphans with 20 points. Michael Organ hit a trio of three pointers for his 9 points as the Orphans defense once again was stellar.
Mt Vernon was led by David Barnes with 14 and Lucas Shelby Jr. added 10.

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes finished a successful trip to Salem with a 3rd place win over Mattoon 72-62. Gavin Addis had a huge game with 30 points, 16 of which were in the 2nd quarter. Isaac McWhorter added 14.  Lincoln Hayes led Mattoon with 18 and Max Wetzel added 12.

The trophy games were moved up to Saturday morning due to the weather forecast.  Also, Gateway Legacy would not allow the team to travel so the consolation championship between them and Champaign Central was canceled.
