The Salem Lady Wildcats will head to Effingham tonight for a showdown with St Anthony and Nancy Ruholl, the all time leading scorer, boy or girl, in St Anthony history. Salem’s Jordan Kessler is 15 points away from 1000 points and would be the first mother/daughter combo in the club as coach Megan Kessler also scored 1000 in her stellar career.
Salem is coming off a big win over Olney on Saturday avenging a loss they just took to the Lady Tigers at the Benton Christmas Tournament winning 59-38. Jordan Kessler had 19 points in the win, Katee Sellers added 16 and Kinley Eagan off the bench scored all 8 in the 3rd quarter.
Tonight, South Central will host Vandalia.
Also on Saturday, Flora beat St Anthony 55-25, Centralia lost to Triad 56-47 and Woodlawn beat Altamont 50-35.
PAWS Breese Shootout
At the PAWS Shootout in Breese. Mater Dei knocked off state ranked Marion 57-50, Nashville over Quincy Notre Dame 47-33, Breese Central beat Mt Carmel 56-35, Pleasant Plains over TTown 51-37, Okawville 53-32 over Hardin-Calhoun and Wesclin over Pittsfield 60-35.
