The Salem boys and girls bowlers competed at Carterville on Saturday.  The Salem Wildcats played the first 3 team games and were 4th overall heading into the bracket team finals.  Salem lost to eventual champ Mascoutah in the opening round 379-358.

Mt Vernon qualified 2nd and won their first bracket match over Collinsville 501-314 before losing to Carterville in the semifinals 401-389.

Centralia was 13th after the team round and Christ Our Rock was 14th.  Neither advanced to bracket play.

Individually, Salem’s Dylan Kuhns had the high game of the tournament with a 289 as he finished tied for 11th.  Teammate Carter Shanafelt was tied for 5th with games of 245, 196 and 257.  Nicholi Marhanka was 26th, Kai Graham 34th and Jaxon Ward tied for 38th.

The Lady Wildcats qualified 7th heading to bracket play.  They lost to Belleville East in the opening bracket round 363-292.  Collinsville was the team champion.  Mt Vernon was 4th seed and won their opening match over O’Fallon 366-286 before losing to Mascoutah in the semifinals 398-307.

Centralia finished 16th and did not play in bracket play.

Brooklyn Hamilton led Salem with a 571 series and was 9th overall.  Kennedi Simmons shot 496 and was 23rd but had the 5th highest individual game score with her 235.  Mackenzie Hurd was 37th, Tatyiana Maines-Sosa 61st, Lilah Barrow 65th and Lilli Kincade 85th.
