One person was injured when a car ran off the Route 161 near Buchannan Road in rural Iuka on Sunday morning.
The driver, 18-year-old Landon Fellmer of Hurst, told Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies he was eastbound and swerved off the road when a deer ran out in front of him. 20-year-old Matthew Slover of Route 161 Extension in rural Iuka reportedly received a head injury and was transported via United Medical Response to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Fellmer declined medical attention.
The crash occurred at 7:49 Sunday morning.
