Salem Police arrested 58-year-old Michael Thompson of Cottonwood Village in Salem for alleged possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.    The arrest occurred at his home, where police had been called in another matter.   Thompson allegedly admitted the meth was his.

A 38-year-old Moncks Corner, South Carolina man was arrested early Saturday morning by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit and driving on a suspended license.  Christopher Nissley was stopped on the Selmaville Road near Green Acres Road early Saturday morning.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was later released on a notice to appear in court.
