After being understaffed, sometimes severely, for more than a year, the Salem Police Department will soon be at full staff after three officers graduated Friday from the Southwestern Illinois College Law Enforcement Academy.

Patrolmen Dylan Friend, Landon Tate, and Cory Crouch still have to complete their field training with other department officers before being released to patrol on their own.

The three started the training academy in Belleville on August 18th.

The three will be formally sworn in at the Salem City Council meeting on Monday, December 15th.
