A 39-year-old Centralia man has been ordered held without bond after being charged in Marion County Court on Friday with four Class X counts of dissemination of child pornography.

Thomas Jones of the 1300 block of Dean Street was arrested at his place of employment in Salem without incident on Thursday after a search warrant was executed at his home by Centralia Police, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Police.

Several electronic items were recovered from the residence and are currently being analyzed by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Police.

Judge Mark Stedelin agreed to hold Jones without bond at the prosecution’s request.  A public defender was appointed to represent him.  He’s due back for a first appearance with counsel and preliminary hearing on December 30th.

The Centralia Police Department would like to commend the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office for their continued commitment to pursuing these cases in our community.
