The Salem City Council has agreed to move tax increment financing district benefits to a new owner of an industrial building at 2028 West Main that is utilized by North American Lighting.

Aaron Robb is selling the building to Agracel.  Salem Economic Development Director Lea Delicarpini says the sale will give Robb additional capital to put into 618 Plastics.

“I think that project in all honesty has grown and is growing very quickly,” Delicarpini said. “This is a very good time for us to have Agracel being interested in purchasing that NAL expansion building, and for those funds to then get reinvested in our local economy through 618 plastics is a win-win.

NAL, which has worked with Agracel on other projects in the last decade is supportive of the sale that is scheduled to close on December 15th.

Delicarpini says some job training benefits will be added to the agreement as a further enticement to keep NAL happy and long term in Salem.
