The Salem Township Hospital’s $16-million renovation and expansion project is on schedule and on budget. That is according to hospital CEO James Timpe in a report to the hospital board last week:
“They’re putting walls up inside what’s going to be the new same-day surgery area where people start and finish before and after surgery,” Timpe said. “That will be the temporary emergency room during phase 2, which will be some time later in next spring.”
The hospital will have four operating rooms and eight emergency room beds when the work is completed along with a 3,000 square foot addition for the sterilization project.
All three phases are scheduled to be finished by August 2027.
