Salem Police have arrested 24-year-old Mason Becker of Julia Drive in Salem for motor vehicle theft. He was released from the Marion County Jail on a notice to appear when taken to Salem Township Hospital. No other details are yet available about the motor vehicle theft.
A 25-year-old homeless Centralia man has been arrested on an outstanding Cook County no-bond warrant. Azreal Lashbrook was transferred to the Marion County Jail to await transport back to Chicago.
State Police arrested two people after stopping a car reportedly traveling more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit. 20-year-old Christon Nix of Salem Mobile Home Park was also arrested for aggravated driving under the influence and illegal consumption of liquor by a minor. A passenger, 19-year-old Tyree Wilborne of Charleston Road in Salem, was arrested for illegal transportation of liquor. Both were released from the Marion County Jail on notices to appear in court.
