As Salem Township Hospital begins work on its $17-million renovation project next Monday, patients and visitors are being requested to use the front entrance to avoid construction activity.
The project will include expansion and renovation of the emergency department and surgical services/operating room which will impact the Emergency Lobby Entrance.
The front doors of the hospital off Ricker Drive will be open beginning at five am Monday through Friday, instead of six am. Additional patient access registration clerks will be available on the second floor/ lobby level starting at 6:00 am.
The Emergency Lobby entrance will remain open, but will also be used by ambulances, so patients are encouraged to arrive and park in the front raised parking area on Ricker Drive to avoid construction disruptions. The front parking lot will also have 2 dedicated surgery drop off/ pick up spaces to ensure that outpatient surgery patients have dedicated spaces for their scheduled services.
Patient transport employees will be available to assist patients in getting to their appointments from the front lobby and to make sure their care is not disrupted during the 2-year construction project.
Salem Township Hospital thanks the community for their patience and understanding during this construction project and asks that you “Pardon Our Progress” to bring the best possible care to the community.
