Kevin K. Shelton, age 64, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born on February 24, 1962, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Harold W. and Helen O. (Ingram) Shelton.
Kevin married the love of his life, Leila, in 1987, and together they built a family centered on love and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved.
Throughout his working years, Kevin was employed as both a jeweler and a truck driver before his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His memory will be treasured by those fortunate enough to have called him son, husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Helen O. Mullins of Woodlawn; wife, Leila Shelton of Woodlawn; his children, Amanda McKinley and husband Michael of Woodlawn, and Craig Shelton and wife Tiffany of Vina, Alabama; his treasured grandchildren, Gaige McKinley, Gavin McKinley, Austin Shelton, Gannon McKinley, Garret McKinley, Adaleigh McKinley, Kaylee Shelton, Anzleigh McKinley, Alleigh McKinley, Arleigh McKinley, Coleson Shelton, and Layke McKinley; his brothers, Barry Shelton and Michael Shelton both of Woodlawn; and his niece, Kirsten McGovern.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Shelton, and his sister, Regina Shelton.
