Glenn Dale Clark, 82, of Romine Township, Iuka, IL, went home to see Jesus on June 27, 2026. Abiding by his wishes, Glenn was at home surrounded with the love of his kids and grandkids. Mr. Clark was an only child born to Euell and Dorthy (Clifton) Clark on March 1, 1944. Glenn was a lifelong resident of Malachi Road in Iuka. In the area, he developed many lifelong cherished friendships, and he looked forward to loafing with those friends.

Glenn married the love of his life, Peggy Sue Harrell, on July 13, 1966, at Well Chapel Church in rural Texico, IL.  Together, they were blessed with their children LuAnn, Dawn, and  John.

Mr. Clark served in the Illinois National Guard.  Glenn began his career working in the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Car Shed. While still working for the I.C.G., he decided to work as a brakeman before finally settling on conductor. He continued to work as a conductor on both the Illinois Central and the Canadian National until he retired.  Glenn also continued the family farm. Throughout his life, he raised grain, cattle, pigs, and goats. In later years, with help, he focused on cattle and grain.  Glenn loved his cattle and took great pride in managing and caring for them. Many say he raised some of the best around.

Glenn was of the Christian faith. He would often go into the woods to pray and talk to God.  His faith was like that of a child

Glenn enjoyed many things in life. Cheering on the St, Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues were near the top of the list.  In later years, Glenn visited many different ball stadiums with his son. Glenn was an animal lover.  His cattle were a source of pride.  His dog, Sally, and cat, Callie, held a very special place in his heart.  Also, he enjoyed loafing with friends and a good meal. Yet above all, he loved his family and being with them. No matter what, you would see him with a smile on his face. People would always comment on Glenn’s smile and remember him for it.

Glenn is survived by his daughters: LuAnn Garrett and husband Greg of Iuka, Dawn Bopp and husband Shannon of Iuka, son: John Clark and wife Stephanie of Iuka; Grandchildren: Baylor Irwin, Blake Garrett, Madison Irwin and husband Clay, Hannah Biekert and husband Derrek, Abby Bopp, Levi Bopp, Jace Bopp, Jonah Bopp, Jackson Bopp, Chesney Clark, Sydney Clark, Sawyer, Clark; Great Grandchild: Sawyer Irwin; Sister-In-Law: Judy Allen; Nephew: Shawn Allen and wife Jena

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, beautiful wife, nephew, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law.
