Henrietta Bullock, 82, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away at 5:10 am June 26, 2026, at her home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was born on September 7, 1943, in West Frankfort, Illinois, to Henry and Mattie (Schlag) Richardson. Henrietta married Danny Dunavan on September 4, 1964, and preceded her in death on April 25, 2023. She later married Marvin Bullock on May 2, 2025, and he survives.
Henrietta is survived by her husband, Marvin Bullock of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughters, Tammy Beasley of Longview, Texas and Pam Delaney and husband Jeff of Wylie, Texas; son, Dean Dunavan of Dix, Illinois; grandchildren, Brittani Lloyd, Brice Lowery, Titus Beasley, Whitnie Rhame, Chelsea Schell, Mariah Reever and Abby Miller; 10 great grandchildren; brothers; Linzie Richardson and Jay Richardson; sister, Kathy Pallas; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Danny Dunavan, brother, Jessie, and son-in-law, Steve Beasley.
Henrietta was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a minister at Friendship of Faith for over 25 years and played a role in the Soup Kitchen for over 25 years. She worked at the Shoe Factory in her younger years. She enjoyed being a pastor and loved her family; she cleaned homes and loved her cats. She took care of her brother, “Jessie,” for over 20 years after her mother passed away.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, from 5 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Brother Trey Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow at South Hickory Hill in rural Jefferson County. Memorials may be made in Henrietta’s honor to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
