A 54-year-old homeless Salem man has been arrested by Salem Police for aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.
Police report their confrontation with Charles Hall culminated a series of early Thursday morning incidents.
Police were initially called for a well being check on Hall while he was walking on West Whitaker Street. He reportedly walked away. A short time later, Hall went to Circle K where he allegedly was causing problems. After being trespassed, Hall reportedly began walking in the middle of West Main Street. When police approached, Hall allegedly began running and went into the bathroom at the Denny’s Restaurant. He reportedly yelled and threatened two officers, slamming a door on one of them and kicking the second.
After being taken into custody, Hall was transported to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges and a first appearance in court.
