The IHSA boys regionals continue tonight with semifinal play.
Coach Lee Bennett and the top-seeded Centralia Orphans will open up post season play tonight at Effingham when they take on Charleston at 6pm. Coach Lee Bennett sits at 699 career wins heading into tonight with a winning percentage in his career just under 80%. Herrin and Mattoon will play in the other semifinal.
At Carbondale, the Mount Vernon Rams open up their post season with a match up with conference rival Carbondale followed by Marion and Olney. At Highland, the Bulldogs play Jerseyville and East St Louis will open with Civic Memorial. Mt Zion will host Danville followed by Eisenhower and Mahomet. At Waterloo, Triad plays Cahokia and Mascoutah will play Waterloo.
At South Central, the host Cougars take on top-seed Dieterich at 6pm followed by North Clay and Altamont.
At Webber, the host Trojans take on Grayville followed by Edwards County and Christ Our Rock at 7:30. At Christman, Casey takes on Neoga and Tuscola plays Martinsville. At Christopher, Okawville takes on Sesser Valier. Goreville will host Century. New Athens plays Steeleville at Marissa. At Central A&M, St Anthony takes on Nokomis and Arcola plays Okaw Valley.
In 2a at Carlyle, Breese Central will take on Nashville followed by Columbia and Wesclin. At Anna, Murphysboro plays Massac followed by Harrisburg and Vienna. At Chester, Althoff will play Chester and Pinckneyville takes on Red Bud. At Fairfield, TTown will play Flora and the host Mules take on Marshall. At Greenville, Auburn plays Hillsboro and Greenville takes on Litchfield. At Hamilton County, Benton plays Carmi and Carterville takes on the Foxes. Over at Paris, Lawrenceville takes on Hutsonville and Paris will play Cumberland. At Staunton, Roxana will take on the host Bulldogs and Southwestern will play Marquette.
In 4a at Alton, Edwardsville plays Granite City followed by the Redbirds and Collinsville. At Belleville West, O’Fallon will play Quincy and East takes on West in the Battle of Belleville.
