The Salem Lady Wildcats season came to an end last night falling to 2nd seed Triad in Troy 52-37.  Salem trailed just 12-10 after the opening quarter, but Triad outscored Salem 18-6 in the second to take a double digit lead to the break.  Jordan Kessler finished with 13 for Salem, Emma Gregg added 8.  Salem also says goodbye to their 3 seniors in Gregg, Lauren Burge and Natalie Lee.  Salem’s season ends at 16-15 on the year.

Triad will take on Effingham after the Hearts eliminated Centralia in the 2nd game last night 47-32.

Also last night at Herrin, Marion beat the hosts 74-45 and Freeburg nipped Waterloo 50-49.  At Olney, Civic Memorial beat Mattoon 57-28 and Highland over Olney 40-24.

Tonight scheduled in 3a at Mt Vernon, the Lady Rams take on East St Louis at 6:30.  The opening game at 5pm will see Carbondale take on Mascoutah.
