The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats dominated their way in the quarterfinal of the SIJHSAA Class L tournament at Rend Lake on Saturday beating Waterloo 39-11.  Lexie Malan and Kenna Benjamin led the way with 9 each.  Braelan Knaak added 8, Maci Susmena 7 and Brynn Kessler 6 in the balanced attack.  Salem is back in action Tuesday night in the state semifinal at 7:15 against Harrisburg after they beat Wolf Branch 43-29.  The other semifinal will see Herrin, who nipped Hamilton County 38-37, taking on Mt Carmel after their 25-21 win over Trico.

The Class S opened as well with New HOpe beating Summersville 38-30, St Rose over St John’s Catholic 39-38, Bartelso beat Trinity 54-33 and New Simpson Hill over Meridian 57-28.

In Class M opening round action, St Clare O’Fallon beat Woodlawn 35-27, Aviston beat Jonesboro 55-23, Smithton 23-15 over Okawville and Goreville beat Pinckneyville 41-31.  Their state semifinals are Monday night with St Clare and Aviston at 6 followed by Goreville and Smithton.
