The 2nd night of the Salem Invitational Tournament was held last night as the Salem Wildcats dropped their opener to 2nd seed Mt Vernon 53-30. The Cats only scored 10 points in the 2nd half after cutting the deficit to 5 near the halftime break. Marlon Price had 15 points to lead the Rams and added 6 rebounds. Dave Barnes finished with10. Salem was led by Ryegan Warren w2ith 10, Ayden Rose and Kaeden Bevolo added 8 each.
The Wildcats will take on Charleston tomorrow at 12:30 in the 2nd consolation semifinal following Effingham and Carbondale starting the day at 11.
The first game of the night last night saw Teutopolis rout Charleston 69-33. Alex Kremeer had 16 to lead the Shoes.
Tonight is championship semifinal night starting at 6pm with Centralia and Champaign Central followed at 7:30 by Mt Vernon and TTown. Both games can be heard on WJBD.
