Wildcat Duo Advances Out Of Regionals….CHS Daven Cook Also Moving On

The Salem Wildcats team golf season came to an end at The Acorns in Waterloo as they were 2 shots away from the final cut line shooting 320.  Waterloo shot 312 to win the event and moves on along with Columbia and Highland.  Mount Vernon finished 5th and Centralia’ 9th.  For Salem, Logan Lockhart shot 76 and Kyler Sapp 80 to advance individually.   Also advancing was Centralia’s Daven Cook and Mount Vernon’s Xander Ashby and Blake Brown.

For Salem, Rhett and Ryan Detering each shot 82’s which was 1 shot from the cut line.  Landen Maxey added 89 and Aden Bass 104.

For Centralia, Justus Edson shot 87, Jaxson Hancock 91, Brayden Stover 94, Cooper Bretier 99 and Rhett Lambert 100.

For Mount Vernon, Maxwell Rinehart shot 84, Slade Emery 85, Gage Raney 89 and Landen Tinsley 99.

At Herrin, Benton advanced along with Carterville and Massac County.  Benton’s River Stilley shot 76 as medalist.

At Mattoon, Effingham moves on along with Charleston and Mattoon.  The Hearts Max Seachrist shot 70 for medalist honors.  Olney’s Reese Glover and Carsyn Ameter also moved on.

At Roxana the advancing teams were Staunton, Waverly and Civic Memorial.  Also moving on individuall were Roxana’s Will Stevens IV, Clayton Bartony and Connor Anderson along with Wood River’s Matt Bruce.

At Carlyle, Mater Dei shot 295 to win the team title with Red Bud and Gibault also advancing.  Mater Dei’s Will Kampwerth was medalist shooting 68.  Sandoval’s Beau Chapman advances to Sectionals.

At St Anthony, the hosts Bulldogs shot 291 and won the event by 21 strokes over runner up TTown and Carmi advances with a 3rd place finish.  Isaac Weber of TTown won the event shooting 71 and Flora’s Andrew Puckett advanced as an individual.

At Mt Olive, Vandalia’s Owen Halford advanced as an individual.
