The Franklin Park Bobcats will open up their Class L regional today when they host Carlyle at 4:15. At the same time at Wesclin the hosts take on Centralia in the other semifinal. The championship will be hosted by Salem if they win.
Also at Hamilton County, Benton and Casey Mount Vernon play at 6pm following the Johnston City v. Hamilton County 4pm game.
Today at Mt Carmel, Flora takes on the hosts followed by Olney and Carmi.
In Class M baseball at Nashville the hosts take on Woodlawn while Breese hosts Breese All Saints.
In Class S, Willow Grove/St Mary opened up with a 16-1 win over Sandoval in their play-in game. They advance to take on top-seed Patoka/Odin today in Patoka at 7pm. The winner advances to play tomorrow in the semifinal against the Selmaville Rockets.
The Rockets opened up the post season with a 5-1 win over Hoffman Trinity. The Rockets got RBI from Isaac Knapp, Tripp Garden, and Drew Consolino who was the winning pitcher going 5 innings and striking out 12 allowing just 2 hits.
Central City beat Raccoon 3-2. John Organ went 2-2 with a walk in the loss. He also struck out 11 and allowed 3 hits in his 4.2 innings of work. The Citians will play the winner of today’s game between Altamont Lutheran and Iuka.
At Bluford, Summersville shutout Field 15-0, Rome over Bluford 11-3, Ewing shutout Thompsonville 12-0 and Opdyke-Belle Rive beat Waltonville 9-2. Summersville and Rome play at 4:30 followed by Ewing and Opdyke at 6:30.
