The Franklin Park baseball and softball teams traveled to Nashville Saturday for more than just a pair of games on the field. The teams joined forces with the Hornets for a Strikeout Cancer game, with proceeds to help fund Abby Etnier and her family as they continue their battle. That was first and foremost on peoples minds as they enjoyed watching their athletes compete.

The home team won both games.

The Bobcats dropped a back and forth game by a final of 11-5. Nashville jumped on top 4-0 after the 2nd inning, only to see Salem score 5 runs in their fourth inning to take a 5-4 lead. That is where the game would stay until the bottom of the sixth when Nashville plated 7 runs to pull out the win. For the Bobcats, Jax Schaubert singled and drove in 2 runs. Bentley Bryan, Kai Graham and Eli Purdy also drove in runs with Purdy adding 2 singles. Bobcats got good pitching from Schaubert, Rhett Starnes and Bryan, but 6 unearned runs cost Franklin Park.
