Marion’s Vance Burford sent the home fans home happy as he hit a home run to right field to hand Franklin Park their first loss of the season 7-6. Franklin Park trailed 6-4 in the top of the sixth when Owen Tennyson hit a ball and the Marion defense made an error leading to the tying runs scoring. Tennyson went 2-4 with 2 RBI on the day. Ben Lux doubled and drove in 2 and Eli Purdy had 2 hits and an RBI. Kai Graham went 3-4 with a run. Zane Applegate was the starter going 5 innings allowing 4 earned runs and struck out 8 to just 1 walk. Franklin Park will host Selmaville this afternoon. Both teams are 4-1 on the season.
