The South Central 16u Storm Chasers made the trip down to the Gulf Coast for tournament action to finish up their summer. After pool play, SC sits at 3-1 overall and the #2 seed heading into elimination bracket play.
SC opened with a 2-0 loss to the Alabama Rawdogs. Cody Beard singled along with Colton Shelton, Hunter Horn and Willenborg. Ian Jones went 2.2 innings allowing just a hit, Trevan Sidwell went 2.1 allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs.
SC then bounced back in Game 2 with a 6-2 win over the Kentucky Stingers. Chase Guerrettaz signled, Willenborg had 2 hits and Hunter Horn drove in 2 runs. Guerrettaz was the winning pitcher going all 6 innings allowing 10 hits and struck out 4.
In Game 3, SC beat Punching Tickets 5-3. Beard, Sidwell and Jones had hits, Shelton drove in a run, Braden Rector scored twice. Shelton was the winning pitcher.
In the final pool play game, SC beat KBA Prime 13-1. Cody Beard scored twice and drove in a run, Sidwell and Shelton drove in runs, Brody Collier doubled and had 3 RBI, Rector scored a run and added an RBI. Collier was the winning pitcher allowing just 1 hit. Horn worked an inning as well.
