For Centralia resident Roger Campbell, poker isn’t just a game. And after the first day of the world famous World Series of Poker Main Event, the owner of Lifestar Ambulance has amassed 107,200 in chips after a little over 12 hour session.
For those unfamiliar, the WSOP Main Event is a $10,000 buy in with the top prize this year of over $10-million to the winner. Campbell will have to dodge more bullets throughout the week.
The Main Event caps a series of poker championships played for at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas. Despite having to change flights, and having to find another place to stay after his reservation ran out, Campbell is ready for Day 2 of the Main Event which will begin for him at 12:00 PST Sunday afternoon.
