Marion County Savings Bank won the 2024 Softball Majors City Series at the Salem Little League Complex on Wednesday night 2 games to 0.
MCSB got a dominant pitching performance from Ali Patrick as they won Game 1 9-1. Patrick struck out 12 in her 5 no-hit innings and only walked 2.
MCSB broke the game open in the fifth inning with six runs. Emily Jones tripled, scoring two runs, Riley Potter added a 2-run single. Alaina Howe and Patrick then drew a bases loaded walks to score 2 more. J. English scored the lone Holiday Inn run.
MCSB then made it official clinching the title by winning Game Two by a final of 19-8 in six-innings. Kenzie Collier drove in 4 runs going 3-4 with 2 doubles. Jones added 2 RBI. Also driving in MCSB runs were Howe, Patrick, Ashlyn Jamison, Potter and Brooklynn Newcomer. Patrick picked up another win in the circle going 3 innings. Kenzie Collier worked an inning as well.
L. Bowdler and L. Byers drove in runs for Holiday Inn.
