Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman told Terrence Shannon Jr over Zoom on Wednesday night that he would be the 36th player in Illini history to have his jersey retired in the rafters. He follows Kofi Cockburn last season and places him among Illinois greats like Dosunmu, Gill, Brown and Williams. Shannon averaged 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists on 47% shooting leading the Illini to the Elite Eight and received first-team All Big Ten and 2nd team All-American honors.
