The Salem Wildcats won both their summer baseball games at home over visiting St Anthony last night. Salem won the opener 4-3 on a walk-off single from Noah Nix. Salem held a 3-0 lead until the Bulldogs tied it with 3 runs in the 7th. Nix worked 4 innings allowing just 1 hit and struck out 8. He threw 45 pitches, 35 of them were strikes. Colton Shelton got the win going the final 3 innings with 4 hits and 3 runs allowed. The duo combined to strikeout 12 and only walk 1. Shelton drove in 2 runs at the plate, Rhett Detering doubled and Carter Lowe singled home a run and scored.
Salem won the 2nd game 9-2. Braden Rector drove in 2 runs with RBI from Eli Lograsso, Cody Beard and Aaden Rostance. Brody Collier was the winning pitcher going 3 innings striking out 4 and allowing 2 hits. Carter Lowe got the final 2 innings of work.
