Salem Police and Fire conducted a search of Town Creek near the North Broadway bridge early Sunday morning for a possible missing person in the creek.
The search began after a witness reported flip flops and a sweatshirt were left on the bridge by a man who then disappeared.
About a dozen members of the Salem Fire Protection District and three Salem Police officers went along the creek bed to the Shelby Street area armed with infrared cameras and flashlights without finding anyone. The search began at 1:50 Sunday morning and continued for just over an hour when no signs of a person was found.
