The South Central Cougars scored a run on a throwing error in the top of the 7th as they knocked off Windsor/Stew-Stras 3-2 in the semifinal of the Kinmundy 1a Sectional.
The Hatchets took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but the Cougars answered with 2 runs on 5 straight hits in the 3rd to tie it. That is where the game would stay until the 7th when SC would score.
Coen West was the winner going all 7 innings allowing 4 hits and struck out 9.
Brody Markley, Evan Hoover and Max Magnus drove in SC runs as they will advance to Saturday’s sectional championship against Altamont after they beat Okaw Valley in the 2nd semifinal yesterday 11-2.
