At Father McGivney, Christ Our Rock fell 2-1 in 9-innings marking the 2nd straight game against the Griffins that the Stallions have dropped in extra innings. McGivney is the top ranked team in 1a according to Max Preps. Jayden Bazile pitched all 9 innings for the Stallions allowing just 1 earned run on 3 hits and 7 strikeouts with a walk. He also had a hit and scored a run at the plate. The Griffins advance to take on Greenfield in the finals after their 3-2 win over Gibault. The Stallions season ends at 15-11 and the program has won 3 straight regional championships.
In 2a sectionals at Greenville, St Anthony shutout Roxana 5-0 and will advance to take on rival TTown after their 3-0 win over Columbia. At Benton, Nashville eliminated Johnston City 10-7 and Mt Carmel beat DuQuoin 3-1.
