A 45-year-old Belleville man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in a Washington County murder.

Kevin Loucks is one of three men charged with the July 2023 murder of 44-year-old Montez Pearson of East St. Louis.  He had been found guilty by a Washington County Jury in October.  Pearson was located deceased near Lunte Creek Road.  Loucks was taken into custody four days later after a search warrant was executed at his residence in Belleville.

Charges are still pending against the two other defendants.  57-year-old Milton Robinson was found unfit to stand trial in Washington County Court last week.  He was ordered committed to the Illinois Department of Human Services where he is expected to regain fitness with a year.  A 90-day update on his condition has been set for June 18th.  45-year-old Arrion Sanders is scheduled for a motion hearing in his case on April 2nd.

Illinois State Police says Loucks sentencing comes after an exhaustive investigation by Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 7.   They were assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Belleville Police.  The case was prosecuted by Washington County State’s Attorney Daniel Janowski.
