Incumbents win in contested state house and senate seats

State Representative Blaine Wilhour

Incumbent State Representative Blaine Wilhour claimed an easy victory over challenger Matt Hall for the 110th District seat.  With most of the votes counted, Wilhour had 78 percent of the vote to Hall’s 21 percent.  In Marion County, Wilhour finished with 3,335 votes to Hall’s 924.

State Senator Terri Bryant, whose 58th district now includes a small area of southern Marion County, easily beat back challenger Wesley Kash.  Bryant had 69 percent of the vote to Kash’s 30 percent.  In Marion County, Bryant received 33 votes to Kash’s 16.

State Representative Dave Severin, whose 116th District also now extends slightly into southern Marion County beat challenger Angela Evans 66 percent of the vote to 33 percent.  In Marion County, Severin won 36 to 15.
