Jefferson and Fayette County contested election results

Jefferson County results

There were several Jefferson County Board seats contested in these Republican primaries. Board District 4 goes to Timothy T. Marlow, defeating Nick Mayo 385 votes to 116. Board District 5 is won by Cory Capps, narrowly beating Johnnie Smith 204 votes to 187. Board District 7, another close race, is won by

Tyler Williams with 275 votes to Jeffery Nowland’s 233. Finally, District 9 goes to Adam Ortgiesen, who defeats opponent Michael Tracy 131 to 91.

Also in Jefferson County, voters of Bethel School District Number 82 approved the issue of $3,975,000 in bonds to fund work on the Bethel Grade School building, with a total of 105 “Yes” votes to 62 “No” votes.

Fayette County results

In Fayette County, Michael Black won a very close race for County Board District 5, defeating opponent Glenda Bartels by 12 votes, 281 to 269.

In a referendum, voters said “Yes” to allow Fayette County school districts to use revenues from the existing 1% school facility sales tax to pay resource officers and mental health professionals. That measure passed with 1,806 “Yes” votes to 1,378 “No” votes.
