Girls Basketball Super-Sectionals
The prep girls’ Super Sectionals are tonight around the state. In 1a, Altamont is making just their 2nd ever trip to a Super-Sectional when they travel to Farmers City to take on Cissna Park. Goreville will play the hosts at Okawville.
In 2a, Nashville will travel to Vandalia to play Camp Point Central. Robinson takes on Peotone at Tolono Unity.
In 3a, Highland hosts Chatham Glenwood.
In 4a at Illinois Wesleyan, Alton takes on Waubonsie Valley.
Boys enter sectional play
The boys resume postseason play tomorrow in Sectional semifinal play. The Centralia Orphans will play Highland in the 3a Sectional at Triad on Tuesday with Mount Vernon and East St Louis playing on Wednesday. The winners play for the title on Friday in the Sweet 16.
In 1a Sectionals at St Anthony, Webber plays Arcola tomorrow followed by Christ Our Rock making their first-ever Sectional appearance Wednesday with a game against Tuscola. Waltonville plays Mounds Meridian tomorrow at NCOE with Goreville and Gibault playing Wednesday.
In 2a at Benton tomorrow it’s Breese Central and Massac County with Benton and Wesclin playing Wednesday. Flora and St Joseph Ogden play tomorrow at Shelbyville with TTown and Tolono Unity playing the following day.
In 4a, both semifinal games will be played in 4a with Belleville West and Quincy playing at O’Fallon in one game with Pekin hosting Normal against Moline.
