A 33-year-old Sandoval man reportedly ran inside his home and wouldn’t come out following a high-speed police chase from Central City.
Central City Police say they first clocked Tyler Foster of East Mississippi Street going 80 in a 35-mile-per-hour zone in Central City. Police attempted to stop Foster who continued northbound on US 51 with speeds once again reaching 80 miles per hour south of Sandoval.
After driving to his residence, he was able to get inside.
The Marion County State’s Attorney’s office elected not to give police a search warrant to go inside Foster’s home because he was only wanted for reckless driving and other traffic charges. Instead, his car was towed.
Sandoval and Centralia Police as well as the Marion County Sheriff’s Department all assisted at the scene of Foster’s home.
The incident unfolded shortly after midnight on Saturday morning.
