Chucky Hepburn scored 11 points and AJ Storr 10 for the Badgers who finished 28 of 31 from the foul line. Jahmir Young scored 20 points, Julian Reese 18 and Donta Scott 12 for Maryland. Wisconsin’s win coupled with Iowa’s road win against Michigan State puts the Badgers in sole possession of third place tin the Big Ten. Wisconsin is 2-1 since suffering a four-game losing streak.
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Payton Sandfort scored 22 points, Ben Krikke added 18 points to go with a season-high 14 rebounds, and Iowa beat Michigan State 78-71. A-6-0 surge cut the Michigan State deficit to 70-65 with 2:31 remaining. Sandfort scored three points and Owen Freeman added a dunk to help the Hawkeyes pull away. Iowa (16-11, 8-8 Big Ten) has won consecutive games for the first time since winning three straight in January. Tyson Walker and Malik Hall each scored 16 points to lead Michigan State (17-10, 9-7), which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
UNDATED (AP) — The field for the 12-team College Football Playoff will comprise five conference champions and seven at-large selections after the university presidents who oversee the CFP voted unanimously to tweak the format. The move to decrease the number of spots reserved for conference champions from six to five was prompted by realignment, including the demise of the Pac-12. The original plan for the 12-team format was to have the six highest-ranked conference champions, with the top four receiving first-round byes, and six at-large selections.

She broke the NCAA career scoring record in the Hawkeyes only game last week, putting up 49 points in the win over Michigan. It took her only three shots to score the eight points she needed to pass Kelsey Plum and move into first all-time. The runner-up was Kamilla Cardoso of South Carolina.
