The Salem Lady Wildcat bowlers finished 10th at the IHSA State Tournament at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford over the weekend. After qualifying just above the cut-line in 12th place after the opening day, Salem used a really good morning run to help them to the 10th place finish just 26 pins out of 9th place. Joliet West was the team champ with Minooka and Lockport in the top 3. Collinsville was 4th, Mascoutah 6 and O’Fallon finished 12 pins behind Salem in 11th.
Palos Hills senior Arianna Araujo won the title 37 pins ahead of Gina Scichowski of Richmond, Triad’s Brylee Proffitt was 8th, Livia Montgomery of Collinsville 11 and Amber Montante of O’Fallon 14. Salem’s Jaeda Rollinson was 21st, Macy Jones of Vandalia 40th with Ava Birch 67 and Olivia Paulson 72nd. Willow Amburgey, Elena Vanhoutin, Brooklyn Hamilton, Mallory Hopkin and Kialee Hardin also contributed to the finish for the Lady Cats and coaches Steve Ludwig and Maliyah Hamilton.
