The Salem Lady Wildcats made the cut after the first day of competition at the IHSA State Girls Bowling Championships held at Cherry Lanes in Rockford. Salem was the final team to qualify for today’s finals finishing 12th and right on the cut line and nipped Oak Lawn Richards by 10 pins as the final advancer.
Joliet West is the top team followed by Lockport and Minooka with Collinsville 4th, Mascoutah tied for 7th and O’Fallon 10th.
Leading Salem was Ava Birch who averaged a 191.3 for the 6-game day good enough for 51st overall followed by Jaeda Rollinson 188.8, Elena Vanhoutin 173.2 , Olivia Paulson 169, Willow Amburgey bowled 5 games for a 176.8 average and Brooklyn Hamilton rolled a 177 in her only game.
