Another big turnout for the Franklin Park 7th Grade Blood Drive on Thursday.
7th grade science teacher Joni Dorff who has spearheaded the drive the past 21 years says a total of 96 units of blood were collected.
“We had Buddy the Blood Drop show up and the kids walked out in front of the school with Buddy the Blood Drive. We made posters, we had the guest speaker from the Red Cross, just a variety of things to get the kids involved. They called on their cell phones from school Thursday reminding people to donate.”
The students fell just four units short of breaking the record of 100 units of blood set just last year.
