The conversion of the former Jiffy South plant on East Main Street in Salem is now complete.
Holly Shepard with the family-owned Complete Storage says a contractor that specializes in the construction of storage units inside of buildings brought in about 20 workers who put together the 83 units. However, the opening had to be delayed as they had to order some missing parts needed to complete the project.
“They are climate controlled so in the winter it runs about 58 degrees, and in the summer about 68-70 degrees. You can keep valuables in here, it’s secure. People have their own codes going in and out. You can put locks on the units. This is for stuff you don’t want water damage, mice or insects near it. So if you want to keep that away, that is what climate controlled does.”
Shepard says there all sizes of units available from very small for just a few boxes to very large that could store the furnishings of a 2 to 3 bedroom home.
She says rental can all be done on line at completestorages.com or you can contact complete storage at 618-384-0023 from nine to five Monday through Friday. There are also office hours at the Centralia facility on South Locust Street on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
