Police Beat for Tuesday, February 13th, 2024

Salem Police made two felony drug arrests following separate traffic stops on Monday.

  • 40-year-old Nicholas McCarty of Louisville was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine, driving on a revoked license, and failure to yield at an intersection following a traffic stop on West Main and Hotze Road. He was released on a notice to appear in court.
  • 35-year-old Chelsey Hoppers of Christopher was arrested for alleged possession of meth. After being taken to the Marion County Jail, she was released on a notice to appear in court.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department picked up two people arrested in other counties and brought them back to the Marion County Jail on outstanding warrants.  33-year-old Tracie Royer of Louse Road in Patoka was arrested in Clinton County on a Marion County traffic warrant with a bond set at $2,500 and on a Fayette County warrant.  25-year-old Juan Martinez of Railroad Street in Keyesport was arrested in Bond County on a no-bond Marion County misdemeanor warrant.
