A 49-year-old homeless Salem man has pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine.

Michael Hawkins was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol with recommended treatment.   As part of the plea, charges of violation of an order of protection and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped.   However, Hawkins was ordered to stay away from the protected person as part of the plea agreement.
